Recently I was having a conversation with one of my co-workers about making the next step or transition in between pursuing this music thing and sticking through my current 9 to 5. We were talking about the reservations one has when trying to go for something and sacrificing to chase their dreams and somewhere through out the conversation he said “aren’t you the one that said all I know is go”, this of course was in reference to the hook to track 2 “Go!” on The Hill Complex. I thought to myself this was exactly why I wrote this song for moments like this; what I wanted to convey was just this at this point in my journey as a writer my mind is definitely focused on getting it and going and getting is all I know right now. The lyrics to the song were actually written to a different beat and I sat on the lyrics and then on the day I made the beat I wrote the hook while making it and somehow I just rapped them over the beat. The concept just came in an instant and I just wanted to write about when going for something you have stay focused and just know go, that’s all you should know when pursuing something. The idea of the video came from a brainstorm with my brother and I, we wanted from the time we knew were going to shoot a video incorporate sports in it to interpret the message and boxing seemed fit. So with the help of the homie Duke the song is visualized through the hard work of me training and trying to do my thing in the ring, we wanted to show how one has to put in hard work to recognize their goals and the focused needed, how when going for yours all you should know is go.
